Our Denver based agency client is looking for a primarily remote, temp to perm, W2, Art Director to join their team ASAP:

  • Start: ASAP after interview process
  • Duration: temp to perm
  • Location: candidates must reside within a commutable distance to Denver, CO
  • This is a primarily remote role, no set hybrid schedule, but working out of the Denver office at least a few times a month is encouraged.
  • Hours: full-time, 40 hours per week, based in the Denver Metro area

Position Overview:

A highly creative, strategic thinker and digital native, the Art Director brings leadership, craft, and conceptual thinking to every project. This role blends visual innovation with a deep understanding of brand and audience—helping to define, evolve, and elevate agency’s creative work across all media.

The Art Director is a collaborator and design leader who guides visual direction, mentors creative teammates, and partners closely with Account and Strategy teams to ensure creative excellence and consistency across client brands. This position plays a key role in balancing conceptual thinking with design execution—delivering work that is both beautiful and effective.

The role of Art Directors at our agency is  to provide creative leadership and brand craft through typography, imagery, color, and motion—with a strong sensibility for both digital and integrated executions. This position focuses on the concept and creation of design systems that elevate brand expression across media, while guiding consistency and innovation throughout the work.

Art Directors at our agency are responsible for bringing conceptual insight to the design process—balancing aesthetics with strategy. They contribute to the creative and account teams’ suite of business through a deep understanding of client goals, design trends, and emerging technology.

Projects include all things digital: content development, animation and motion graphic executions, video editing, social media posts, eblasts, websites, social ads, display ads, etc. Plus, all things traditional: print ads, collateral (brochures, booklets, folders, flyers, handouts, direct mail), signage, outdoor, environmental, and placemaking.

● Lead and shape design concepts through imagery, color, typography, and motion, with a focus on digital media.

● Define and evolve brand visual language across campaigns and integrated marketing channels. 

● Collaborate closely with Account, Strategy, Copy, and Design teams to align creative intent with client goals.

● Confidently present and articulate design thinking to internal teams and clients. 

● Create space for experimentation, innovation, and growth within digital, placemaking, and design work.

● Maintain high standards of creative excellence while balancing time, scope, and budget. 

● Contribute to team culture through collaboration and feedback.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

● 6–10+ years of professional design experience or equivalent in a creative agency or related environment.

● Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects or Premiere), Figma, Canva, and Sketch.

● Strong understanding of digital and interactive design, including responsive systems and motion graphics.

● Conceptual thinker with the ability to connect design decisions to strategy and brand objectives. 

● Strong presentation and communication skills—able to explain and defend design rationale with clarity.

● Collaborative and proactive partner across teams; skilled at navigating creative feedback loops. 

● Knowledge of printing techniques, materials, and digital production standards. 

● Highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable under deadline-driven conditions. 

● Demonstrated ability to independently lead projects from concept through completion.

Technical Requirements

● Advanced proficiency in design software (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, Figma, Sketch, Canva).

● Experience with motion graphics, animation, and video editing.
