As a key member of the User Experience team, you will thrive in an agile and iterative environment, collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams and stakeholders. Your work will involve analyzing complex challenges, designing intuitive solutions, and effectively conveying your design vision.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to the company’s success by:

* **Driving Design Strategy:**
* Applying a deep understanding of user interface patterns and behaviors to enhance user comprehension and task performance.
* Leveraging visualizations and interactions to facilitate analytic thinking, especially with large data sets.
* Leading design critiques, evaluating interactions for inclusivity, and providing expert guidance to cross-functional teams.
* Facilitating engaging ideation sessions and collaborative design activities.
* Serving as the subject-matter expert for interaction design within the product design team.
* **Creating Impactful Artifacts:**
* Informing design decisions with a comprehensive grasp of interaction design theory, visual design theory, research data, and best practices.
* Developing complex low-fidelity sketches, wireframes, and prototypes to explore, communicate, and validate innovative ideas.
* Producing detailed prototypes that provide clear delivery specifications for development teams.
* Presenting interaction design work to senior stakeholders, articulating rationale and impact.
* **Leading Research and Testing:**
* Facilitating robust usability testing sessions to gather critical user insights.
* Actively participating in or initiating research activities to inform design directions.
* Conducting competitive audits and researching interaction design strategies relevant to the industry and specific business goals.
* Performing comprehensive pattern, micro-interaction, and component design audits as needed.

**Must-Have Qualifications:**

* A Bachelor’s degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
* A compelling portfolio showcasing application design samples that demonstrate your expertise.
* A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in designing usable interfaces across diverse channels and platforms.
* Proven experience in an applied research setting, including successfully integrating user research into product designs and design practices.
* Demonstrated ability to clearly articulate design strategy, rationale, and logic, effectively describing benefits and highlighting risks associated with design decisions.
* Expertise with industry-standard design, prototyping, and research tools such as Figma, Mural, and UserTesting.com.

**Nice-to-Have Qualifications:**

* A Master’s degree or certification in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), or a related field.
* A strong understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of various research methods, including when and how to apply them throughout the product lifecycle.
* An appreciation for the potential and application of ‘design thinking’ methodologies.
* Experience working within a large organizational structure and in an agile development environment.
