**About the Role:**
We are seeking a visionary Digital Product Designer to join an agile and iterative environment. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the digital products that define the user journey. You’ll collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams and stakeholders, acting as a natural problem-solver, communicator, and facilitator from initial idea generation through to implementation. **What You’ll Do:**
* **Drive Interaction Design Strategy:**
* Leverage a deep understanding of user interface patterns and behaviors to enhance user comprehension and optimize task performance.
* Utilize visualizations and interactions to facilitate analytic thinking, especially with complex data sets.
* Lead design critiques, evaluate interactions for inclusivity, and provide expert guidance to cross-functional teams.
* Facilitate dynamic ideation sessions and collaborative work activities to spark innovation.
* Serve as the interaction design subject-matter expert for the product design team.
* **Create Impactful Interaction Artifacts:**
* Apply comprehensive interaction design theory, research data, and best practices to inform critical design decisions.
* Develop highly complex artifacts to clearly communicate task flows, touchpoints, user behaviors, and information exchange.
* Produce sophisticated low-fidelity sketches, wireframes, and prototypes to explore, communicate, and validate design concepts.
* Craft complex prototypes that provide precise delivery specifications for development teams.
* Present compelling interaction design work to senior stakeholders, articulating vision and rationale.
* **Lead Research and Testing Initiatives:**
* Facilitate robust usability testing sessions to gather critical user feedback.
* Actively participate in or initiate new research activities to uncover user needs and opportunities.
* Conduct in-depth research into interaction design strategies within the financial services sector and perform competitive audits relevant to specific design or business objectives.
* Execute pattern, micro-interaction, and component design audits as needed to maintain design system integrity and excellence.
**Must-Have Qualifications:**
* A BA/BS degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
* A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in designing usable interfaces across diverse channels and platforms.
* Proven experience in an applied research setting, demonstrating the ability to integrate user research seamlessly into product designs and design practices.
* Demonstrated ability to clearly articulate design strategy, rationale, and logic, effectively describing benefits and highlighting risks associated with design decisions.
* Expertise with leading design, prototyping, and research tools.
**Nice-to-Have Qualifications:**
* An MA/MS degree or certification in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), or a related field.
* A strong understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of various research methods, including when and how to apply them effectively throughout each product phase.
* An appreciation for the transformative potential of ‘design thinking’ methodologies.
* Experience working within a large-scale organization and within an agile development environment.
