We are seeking a long-form Blog Writer to support our brand’s editorial content. Reporting to [role], this writer will collaborate with Brand, Creative, and Digital Marketing to create blog content that is on-brand, genuinely useful, and structured to perform well in organic search and emerging AI discovery surfaces.

Our ideal candidate writes with clarity and personality, can follow a brief, and has enough technical savvy to apply a lightweight SEO checklist without needing to be an SEO specialist.

Key Responsibilities

Editorial & Long-Form Blog Writing

  • Write long-form blog content from briefs, outlines, or keyword themes (typically 800–1,800 words).
  • Translate product features and brand positioning into helpful, readable content for real people.
  • Adapt tone and structure by audience and funnel stage while maintaining brand voice consistency.
  • Revise drafts efficiently based on stakeholder feedback and hit deadlines.

Blog Optimization (SEO)

  • Align content to the intended search intent and primary topic.
  • Create clear, scannable structure using strong H2/H3s that map to key questions.
  • Write straightforward “answer-first” sections when appropriate (1–3 sentence summaries).
  • Incorporate FAQs when relevant.
  • Use key product/category terms and related entities naturally, without keyword stuffing.
  • Draft basic on-page elements as needed (title options, H1, meta description, internal link opportunities, alt text).

Content Development & Process

  • Manage assignments and revisions within ClickUp (or similar) and maintain clear versioning in Google Docs.
  • Follow templates and checklists to ensure drafts are publication-ready.
  • Support content refreshes and updates to existing posts when needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2–5 years of long-form writing experience (consumer, lifestyle, ecommerce, or agency preferred).
  • Portfolio with multiple long-form blog samples that show structure, clarity, and voice control.
  • Strong editing skills, attention to detail, and comfort incorporating feedback.
  • Familiarity with basic SEO concepts (intent, headings, internal linking).
  • Comfort working in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.

Nice to Have

  • Experience writing for consumer products and ecommerce brands.
  • Experience updating/refreshing existing content.
  • Familiarity with AI search behavior and writing patterns that improve citability.
