Our banking client is looking for a Digital Product Designer. This is a hybrid role in Toronto, ON.

Join a dynamic team where you’ll be at the forefront of digital product creation, influencing every touchpoint of our user journeys. This role offers the chance to craft intuitive and engaging digital solutions, directly contributing to our mission of improving lives through outstanding digital services. You’ll work within an agile, iterative environment, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and stakeholders to analyze, design, and convey your design vision. As a natural problem solver, communicator, and facilitator, you’ll be involved in every step of the process from idea generation to implementation, shaping experiences that drive user comprehension and enhance task performance.

**What You’ll Do:**

* Shape user experiences across various digital products within an agile and iterative environment.
* Collaborate extensively with interdisciplinary team members and stakeholders to analyze, design, and articulate your design vision.
* Drive user comprehension and improve task performance by leveraging a deep understanding of user interface patterns and behaviors.
* Utilize advanced visualizations and interactions to facilitate analytic thinking with large data sets.
* Facilitate design critique sessions, evaluate interactions for inclusivity, and provide expert advice and guidance to cross-functional teams.
* Lead ideation sessions and collaborative work activities to foster innovation.
* Serve as the subject-matter expert for interaction design within the product design team.
* Apply a comprehensive understanding of interaction design theory, research data, and best practices to inform critical design decisions.
* Design complex artifacts to effectively communicate task flows, touchpoints, user behaviors, and information exchange.
* Create complex low-fidelity sketches, wireframes, and prototypes to explore, communicate, and validate new ideas.
* Develop complex prototypes to provide precise delivery specifications for development teams.
* Present interaction design work and rationale to senior stakeholders.
* Facilitate usability testing and actively participate in or initiate research activities.
* Conduct research on interaction design strategies within a complex industry and perform competitive audits pertinent to specific design or business goals.
* Perform detailed pattern, micro-interaction, and component design audits as appropriate.

**Must-have Qualifications:**

* BA/BS degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
* A minimum of 5 years of experience in designing usable interfaces across multiple channels and platforms.
* Demonstrated experience in an applied research setting, including integrating user research into product designs and design practices.
* Proven ability to articulate design strategy, rationale, and logic, clearly describing benefits and highlighting risks associated with design decisions.
* Demonstrated expertise with industry-standard design, prototyping, and research tools.

**Nice-to-have Qualifications:**

* MA/MS degree or certification in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), or a related field.
* Strong understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phase.
* Appreciation for the potential of ‘design thinking’.
* Experience working within a large organization and within an agile environment.
