This is a hybrid role and requires 4 days per week worked onsite in our client’s Toronto office. (1 day per week remote)

**What You’ll Do:**
* **Shape Visual Strategy:**
* Leverage your understanding of visual-spatial displays to enhance user comprehension and task performance.
* Design versatile visual components that promote efficiency and consistency across diverse contexts.
* Utilize dynamic visualizations to support analytic thinking when working with large datasets.
* Facilitate engaging ideation sessions and collaborative work activities to drive innovation.
* Present compelling visual design work to senior stakeholders, advocating for user-centered solutions.
* **Drive Design Creation:**
* Apply a comprehensive understanding of visual design theory, research data, and best practices to inform every design decision.
* Craft highly complex visual artifacts for digital media, including web and native applications, to exchange information, evoke emotion, and facilitate seamless interaction.
* Develop detailed low-fidelity sketches, high-fidelity mock-ups, and interactive prototypes to communicate intent and provide precise specifications for development.
* Lead design critiques, evaluate visual designs for inclusivity, and offer expert advice and guidance to cross-functional teams.
* Contribute practical direction to the broader design team on visual communication standards, tools, channels, and processes.
* **Advance Through Research & Testing:**
* Facilitate usability testing sessions to gather critical user feedback.
* Actively participate in or initiate research activities to deepen design insights.
* Conduct thorough research into visual design and communication strategies, including competitive audits pertinent to specific design or business goals.
* Perform visual design audits as needed to ensure quality and consistency.
**Must-Have Qualifications:**
* BA/BS degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
* A compelling portfolio showcasing web and/or mobile design samples.
* Solid knowledge of industry-standard design tools and core design principles (e.g., typography, grid systems, visual hierarchy, color theory, white space).
* Demonstrated understanding of responsive design principles.
* Experience working within an agile development process.
**Nice-to-Have Qualifications:**
* Proven experience in designing outstanding digital products and experiences.
* Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate conceptual ideas and design rationale, all within a user-centered design process.
* Excellent problem-solving skills, with a knack for tackling complex challenges creatively.
* Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to build positive and collaborative working relationships.
* Further knowledge and/or experience in agile methodologies.
