Senior Staff Accountant

Overview

Our beauty client is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to support corporate accounting operations across multiple business units. This role will play a key part in month-end close activities, journal entry management, reconciliations, reporting, and financial analysis while partnering cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced corporate environment and is comfortable managing complex accounting processes independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, roll forwards, and supporting analysis required for monthly close activities
• Assist with month-end close processes for assigned accounting areas
• Perform general ledger account analysis and variance research
• Prepare and distribute month-end reporting and financial analysis
• Support consolidated reporting processes and prepare related reporting packages
• Input and maintain financial data within SAP or similar ERP systems
• Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to investigate discrepancies and resolve accounting or compliance-related issues
• Manage intercompany account reconciliation activities and support GRIR aging/remediation processes
• Support internal and external audit requests by gathering documentation and responding to inquiries
• Prepare regulatory reporting in accordance with established deadlines
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects to enhance operational efficiency and controls
• Ensure adherence to financial and operational control standards

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• 5+ years of corporate accounting experience within a fast-paced accounting environment
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
• Experience with Power BI
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and variance analysis skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
• Strong understanding of financial and operational controls
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a dynamic environment
• Resourceful mindset with the ability to resolve complex accounting issues through completion

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
• IFRS experience preferred
• Auditing experience preferred
• Consumer products or beauty industry experience preferred
• CPA certification preferred
