About the Role

As a key contributor to our client’s financial planning and analysis team, you will play a pivotal role in the strategic development and oversight of capital investments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Field Operations, Accounting, and Regulatory groups, to ensure business targets are met in the development of capital expenditure forecasts. Your contributions will directly influence the implementation of these plans across the organization, providing crucial insights into budget development, monitoring, and reporting of business results. This role offers the chance to make a tangible impact by ensuring responsible and effective allocation of resources for critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and maintain comprehensive data to support capital project and portfolio tracking, benchmarking studies, ad-hoc analysis, and reporting.
  • Provide essential data and analytical support for infrastructure filings and rate cases.
  • Respond to data requests from various regulatory agencies with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist in the development of short- and long-term financial forecast updates, adhering to established guidelines and processes.
  • Develop, populate, and present relevant performance benchmarks and scorecards to stakeholders.
  • Support analytical evaluations and reporting of year-to-date actual financial performance against historical and budgeted performance.
  • Collect and organize data to understand cost structures and determine the impact of project scope changes and sourcing decisions.
  • Utilize financial systems proficiently to plan, execute, and report on capital investment performance.
  • Perform essential functions with a high degree of autonomy and minimal oversight.

Qualifications

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, economics, finance, accounting, or a relevant field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in financial analysis, capital planning, or a related field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with keen attention to detail and excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
  • Solid knowledge of business and management principles, including strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods.
  • Adept at applying accounting and mathematical principles to complex financial scenarios.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret business trends and project future revenues and expenses.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other computer applications.
  • Experience with financial analysis techniques and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Previous experience with enterprise application systems beyond basic computer applications.
