Claims Intake Specialist

Overview

Skill is partnering with a major Healthcare company to find a Claims Intake Specialist for a Temporary opportunity. In this high-impact hybrid role based in Hartford, CT, you will support Stop Loss & Health Claims Services by accurately entering critical data points from reports into designated systems while ensuring high standards of data integrity and quality assurance.

To be considered for this role, you must:

• Be authorized to work in the United States
• Not require sponsorship of any kind for the duration of the assignment
• Be able to work on a W-2 basis (C2C or 1099 is not permitted for this position)

   

Key Responsibilities

• Intake and process approximately 20 claim submissions per day, manually entering key data points into designated templates with a high degree of precision.
• Efficiently input data from complex reports into internal tracking systems and templates.
• Participate in regular quality assurance (QA) audits, aiming for 95% processing accuracy and 99.7% financial accuracy within three months.
• Identify data discrepancies or intake errors promptly and escalate issues to upper-level team members within the Data Intake Team according to established policies.
• Adhere strictly to company data intake processes and quality expectations.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Proficiency in core office tools, particularly Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new internal software and claims management systems quickly.
• Strong attention to detail with proven accuracy in manual data entry.
• Familiarity with basic data intake processes, policies, and discrepancy identification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in medical claims processing and medical coding.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $18–$19.31/hr. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
