Remote, but EST zone hours. 

We are seeking a dynamic individual to join a critical team responsible for managing a high-volume portfolio of litigation matters. In this role, you will be instrumental in safeguarding the company’s interests, shaping litigation strategies, and making pivotal recommendations that directly influence case outcomes and financial exposures. Your expertise will be vital in navigating complex legal landscapes, ensuring effective representation, and contributing to the overall resilience of our client’s operations.

Manage 100+ cases handled by outside counsel on the Company’s behalf, largely independently.  Review files, diary case updates, communicate with outside counsel and internal investigators, assist in developing case strategy and making recommendations on settlements and/or investigations.  Enter notes into the case management system, updating the case file, review submitted bills, prepare and present settlement requests, make recommendations on reserves, review motions filed by outside counsel, review mediation statements, and work collaboratively with the rest of the outside counsel management team.

MUST HAVE technologies:
1. Case Management Systems (e.g., Guidewire, Litify, Legal Files, ClaimCenter, or similar) for tracking, documenting, and managing high-volume litigation matters.
2. Microsoft Outlook for communication and case coordination with outside counsel, investigators, and internal stakeholders.
3. Microsoft Excel for case tracking, reserve analysis, reporting, and settlement evaluations.
4. Document Review & E-Billing Platforms for reviewing legal invoices, pleadings, motions, mediation statements, and case documentation.
5. Legal Research and Document Management Tools for reviewing case strategy, motions, and litigation submissions.

MUST HAVE Critical Skills:
1. Outside Counsel Management with experience overseeing a high-volume portfolio of litigation matters.
2. New York Claims Evaluation & Case Valuation including reserve setting, exposure analysis, and settlement authority recommendations.
3. Litigation Strategy Review with the ability to analyze case strategy, review motions, and provide actionable feedback to outside counsel.
4. Settlement Negotiation & Resolution Management including drafting settlement requests and making recommendations on claim disposition.
5. Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with attorneys, adjusters, investigators, and business stakeholders.

NICE TO HAVE technologies / Skills:
1. Premises Liability and Motor Vehicle Accident Claims Experience in New York.
2. Mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Experience including mediation preparation and statement review.
3. Insurance Defense or Claims Adjusting Background with exposure to complex liability matters.
4. Reserve Management and Financial Exposure Analysis across large claim portfolios.
5. Process Improvement and Reporting Experience with the ability to identify trends and improve claims handling practices.
