  • General Ledger & GAAP Compliance: Review accounting transactions, general ledger entries, and reconciliations in strict alignment with U.S. GAAP.

  • Audit Coordination: Serve as a primary point of contact during annual audits, preparing documentation and addressing auditor inquiries in a timely manner.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal business units and external auditors to resolve complex accounting, reporting, and disclosure matters.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related quantitative field.

  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in financial reporting, fund accounting, or public accounting/audit.

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong foundational command of U.S. GAAP, including financial statement presentation, schedule preparation, and analytical review.

  • Software Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, data modeling, financial analysis) and standard MS Office applications.

    • High level of detail orientation and numerical accuracy under tight reporting deadlines.

    • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving capabilities.

    • Clear written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels.

    • Ability to work independently with end-to-end ownership of deliverables while maintaining strong teamwork.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)

  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.

  • Direct knowledge of SEC accounting and reporting requirements applicable to mutual funds and investment companies (e.g., Investment Company Act of 1940).

  • Professional background within the mutual fund, ETF, or broader asset management industry.

We place so many freelancers here who consistently tell us its one of the best places they’ve worked. Why? The teams, the culture, the management, and most recently, the client’s willingness to recognize that it was important to step up to the digital demands of the marketplace:

  • Transitioning their marketing structure to Agile methodology to be able to deliver valuable content to its audiences faster
  • They even followed this up with a floor remodel, to support the methodology, creativity & collaboration
