In the wake of the killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and too many others, Aquent committed to donating $20,000 to the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, and also matched donations, dollar for dollar, made by staff, registered talent, and clients. According to John Chuang, Aquent CEO, it was a move to “to reaffirm our company’s values” at an urgent time. Chuang said Aquent was proud to stand with the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund which “leads the way for social justice.”

In total, Aquent staff, talent, and clients contributed more than $110k to 33 social justice organizations. The financial commitment to the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund was part of a three-step initiative Aquent has taken to support social justice reform. The company has also promoted two important books—”The New Jim Crow” and “The Nickel Boys”—to help educate staff on the history and purpose of this movement and ensured time off for staff to vote in elections and to assist their friends, families, and neighbors in exercising their voting rights.
