“Mayor Walsh will make an exceptionally strong Labor Secretary.”
JOHN CHUANG / CEO, AQUENT
Saying the Department of Labor “is one of the most important departments to me,” President-elect Joe Biden today nominated Boston Mayor Marty Walsh to be Secretary of Labor. John H. Chuang, CEO of Boston-based workforce services company Aquent, applauded the choice. “As both a former union worker and head of a labor union, he has a deep understanding of the challenges facing today’s workers,” said Chuang. He also said Mayor Walsh will be able to confront pressing issues facing the workforce. “This includes ending benefits inequality for all workers, putting a stop to gig worker misclassification and restoring enforcement powers to the Department of Labor,” Chuang said.
