For those seeking a silver lining from the COVID pandemic, there is at least one. Remote work has become commonplace and is here to stay. “For job seekers and for those who are employed, that just means a lot more opportunity,” said John Chuang, CEO of Aquent. “Because instead of your skills being valued in one market, it is valued all over the nation.” While some worry what that might mean for cities in the future, Chuang is optimistic. He envisions empty office buildings converted to affordable residential space. “At the end of the day the city will be more vibrant than ever.”
