Event production is a craft and a team sport. As the Director of Production, you will sit at the center of it, blending strategy, creativity, and operational excellence to guide complex programs while nurturing the people and processes that power our work.
You will manage the full lifecycle of live events—from early strategic development to onsite execution and post-event reconciliation. This role is a balance of high-level client partnership and internal departmental leadership, ensuring teams have the tools and clarity needed to deliver flawless experiences.
Travel: Approximately 15–20%
Location: Onsite in Norwood, MA. Clients must be nearby, or willing to relocate. (Non-negotiable.)

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Partner with clients to define strategic and creative event direction aligned with business objectives.
- Serve as the senior point of contact for high-level accounts, building long-term trust and presenting concepts.
- Shape project solutions that meet specific client goals and brand standards.
Production Oversight
- Direct all production elements: A/V, staging, lighting, scenic, and onsite run-of-show.
- Manage detailed scopes of work, timelines, budgets, and production schedules.
- Monitor work quality throughout the project lifecycle and develop robust risk-contingency plans.
- Lead vendor partnerships, talent management, and cross-functional teams.
Operational Excellence
- Collaborate with senior leadership to refine department workflows and improve efficiency.
- Drive the adoption of new technologies and streamlined financial management practices.
- Cultivate a positive, connected team culture through clear communication and regular updates.
Team Development
- Build staffing plans that align team strengths with client needs and manage workload capacity.
- Oversee onboarding, training, and professional development for production staff.
- Mentor team members through real-time feedback and proactive coaching.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in live event production or agency environments.
- Proven success leading large-scale programs and cross-functional teams.
- Strong financial acumen, including budget creation and oversight.
- Expertise in client leadership, problem-solving, and operational management.
- Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative, detail-oriented mindset.
- Technical Plus: Experience with executive presentation management, video production, and SharePoint/O365.
