Job Description:

Our Canada based learning and development client is looking for a Video Editor to join for ongoing project to project work.

Job Role: Video Editor

  • Our client is looking to build a bench of Video Editors, available for project to project based freelance work and who are comfortable working in Final Cut Pro X.
  • Candidates for this role must be Canada based, (T4)
  • Fully remote, team works EST hours
  • Estimated start date: after an interview with hiring manager
  • Duration: open ended project to project work, 
  • Hours per week will vary depending on project work load
  • Candidates for this role must be available to work from 9AM-5PM EST.  (Completing assignments after hours or over the weekend is not an option)
  • Candidates for this role must provide their own laptop and Final Cut Pro X license.

Responsibilities:

  • Edit video content using Final Cut Pro X (FCPX)
  • Must have thorough recent experience working in Final Cut Pro X.
  • Collaborate closely with scriptwriters and other team members to understand the content and ensure a clear and engaging narrative.
  • Utilize Adobe Photoshop (PS) and Illustrator (AI) for graphic design and creation of visual elements.
  • Work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest video editing trends and software advancements.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a video editor, with a proven track record of creating compelling training content.
  • An absolute mastery of FCPX, including advanced editing techniques 
  • Added bonus for motion graphics creation.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator, for graphic design and asset creation.
  • A keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of visual storytelling principles.
  • The ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. 
  • A self-starter mentality, requiring minimal onboarding and direction after a project starts.
