As a **Digital Product Designer**, you will be an integral part of an agile and iterative environment, collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders. Your expertise will transform complex ideas into intuitive, engaging, and inspiring designs, delighting users at every touchpoint. From initial ideation to final implementation, you’ll solve challenging problems, facilitate crucial discussions, and convey your design vision with clarity and conviction.

**What You’ll Do:**

* **Design Strategy & Leadership:**
* Leverage your understanding of user interface patterns and behaviors to enhance user comprehension and task performance.
* Design compelling visualizations and interactions to support analytical thinking with large datasets.
* Lead design critiques, evaluating interactions for inclusivity and providing expert guidance to cross-functional teams.
* Facilitate ideation sessions and collaborative work activities to foster innovation.
* Act as the subject-matter expert for interaction design within the product design team.

* **Artifact Creation & Delivery:**
* Apply interaction design theory, visual design theory, research data, and best practices to inform robust design decisions.
* Develop complex low-fidelity sketches, wireframes, and prototypes to explore, communicate, and validate design concepts.
* Create detailed prototypes that provide precise delivery specifications for development teams.
* Present sophisticated interaction design work to senior stakeholders, articulating rationale and impact.

* **Research & Testing:**
* Facilitate usability testing sessions to gather critical user feedback.
* Participate in or initiate research activities to deepen understanding of user needs and behaviors.
* Research interaction design strategies within the financial services sector and conduct competitive audits relevant to specific design or business goals.
* Perform pattern, micro-interaction, and component design audits as needed to ensure consistency and quality.

**What You Need to Succeed:**

**Must-have:**

* BA/BS degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), or equivalent practical experience.
* A compelling portfolio showcasing application design samples.
* A minimum of 5 years of experience designing usable interfaces across multiple channels and platforms.
* Experience in an applied research setting, including integrating user research into product designs and design practices.
* Demonstrated ability to articulate design strategy, rationale, and logic, highlighting benefits and risks of design decisions.
* Expertise with leading design, prototyping, and research tools such as Figma, Mural, and UserTesting.com.

**Nice-to-have:**

* MA/MS degree or certification in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), or a related field.
* Strong understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, and when and how to apply them during each product phase.
* An appreciation for the potential of ‘design thinking’.
* Experience working within a large organization and in an agile environment.
