The Opportunity
We are seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented Data Analyst to join a leading energy services provider. This role is designed for a “bridge” analyst—someone who enjoys the technical challenge of writing SQL queries but also has the creative eye to build intuitive dashboards for customer data.
This is a perfect fit for a candidate with 1–3 years of experience who is ready to take full ownership of their workstream and thrives in an environment that values professional autonomy and proactive problem-solving.
The Role
- Visualize: Build and optimize PowerBI (or Tableau) dashboards that make customer data easy to understand.
- Query: Use SQL to perform deep-dives into large datasets, utilizing multi-table JOINs, CASE statements, and aggregations.
- Investigate: Act as a “data detective.” You will be responsible for validating record counts, investigating missing data, and troubleshooting broken relationships or slow visuals.
- Research: Conduct ad-hoc data research to support fast-moving projects and ensure data integrity across all reporting.
- Innovate: Experience using Python to automate tasks or manipulate data is highly preferred.
What We’re Looking For
- Technical Foundation: 1–3 years of professional experience with SQL, PowerBI, and Python. (Experience with Tableau is a great substitute for PowerBI).
- Analytical Independence: You are comfortable investigating data issues without a step-by-step manual and can explain your findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Data Modeling Knowledge: You understand the difference between measures and calculated fields, and you’re comfortable with Import vs. DirectQuery modes.
- The “Self-Starter” Mindset: You are punctual, professional, and don’t require heavy oversight to meet deadlines.
- Education: Associate’s Degree in a related field (Data, CS, Math, Business) or equivalent hands-on experience.
